ABOUT FOUNDER OF IKDRC & VISION OF GUTS
Dr. H.L.Trivedi, the Founding Director of Institute of Kidney Diseases and Research Centre (IKDRC) and Institute of Transplantation Sciences (ITS) and current Pro- Chancellor of Gujarat University of Transplantation Sciences (GUTS) is a great visionary and philanthropist with super creative ability. By virtue of his initiative capability, perseverance, resourcefulness and tenacity to translate his dreams into reality, he has been a living icon in the field of Nephrology and Transplantation.
He established IKDRC in 1981 and proceeded to provide high level patient care and welfare services to the patients with nephro-urological diseases. Transplantation was always a passion for him hence he established ITS in 1997 and pioneered kidney and liver transplantation in the State of Gujarat providing modern expensive care to patients with limited or no financial resources.
Finally he ventured into the world of academics and research in the field of Transplantation and Allied Sciences by creating GUTS in 2015. Getting the University status to IKDRC-ITS is the crowning glory for his efforts to build center of excellence.
Thus IKDRC, ITS and GUTS are living testimony to his tireless efforts, indomitable will, and strong sense of commitment to his ideals and goals. His sterling leadership quality, remarkable foresight, pursuit of excellence and humanity will continue to guide and inspire future generations at University.
